OUR PARTNERS

We work with our partners to create sustainable solutions that conserve resources along the value chain.

#1 RESPONSIBLY SOURCED PAPER

FSC® stands for Forest Stewardship Council®, and this mark confirms that the wood comes from sus-tainably managed forests with appropriate ecological, social and economic credentials.

STI Group was the first company in the corrugated cardboard industry to FSC®-certify its German production plants, as early as 2008. Our international subsidiaries and sales offices soon followed.

The PEFC™ mark (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) also endorses forest preservation and ecological balance. Some of the raw materials we use also bear this mark.

#2 CLIMATE PROTECTION

SCIENCE BASED TARGETS INITIATIVE

We support the Paris Climate Agreement 1.5 degree target; reducing and ultimately eliminating CO₂ emissions is a crucial part of our sustainability strategy.
We joined the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2023 and are developing a roadmap to emission-free business based on its scientifically sound criteria.

Assessing our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) in 2022 with external partner Nature Office was the basis for identifying ways to minimise our future CO₂ emissions, based on appropriate measures.

In accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol accounting and reporting standards, we now measure our CCF annually to include all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. Scope 3 emissions are calculated in accordance with the Corporate Value Chain Standard.
Our CCF Report identifies the largest emissions sources at each stage of the value chain, enabling us to set clear targets for priority areas and measure our progress in reducing CO₂.

We offer a service whereby we can determine the product carbon footprint (PCF) of any packaging or displays we produce, using a CO₂ calculation tool from ClimatePartner.

Since 2010, STI Group has been a member of the largest, most important global CSR network – the UN Global Compact.
This strategic initiative encourages companies to align their international business activities with ten recognised principles spanning human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. These derive from the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles of Rights at Work.
