GOOD TO KNOW

We’ve used migration-free inks and varnishes since 2011:

There are many restrictions on food packaging with respect to materials, inks and varnishes; packaging manufacturer expertise is essential. Food cartons must not release anything that could endanger consumer health or affect the composition of the contents: Food safety and migration.

Only virgin fibreboard or recycled materials with special barrier properties are used in our production of cartons that come into direct contact with food. Where necessary, food safety testing by an accredited independent institute is carried out to confirm that no substances are exchanged between folding box and contents.

Our functional coatings increase recyclability:

Compared to polyethylene linings, using a barrier coating on cartonboard supports higher levels of recyclability as it does not need removal and thermal recycling (incineration).

Barrier coatings can often provide a sufficient barrier against grease or water, enabling valuable fibres to remain in the recycling loop.

We continuously innovate:

Our Circular Innovation Team focuses on projects optimising material use (lighter weight, monomaterial solutions) improving recycling rates and employing alternative fibres (from grass or silphie).

We understand food retailer needs:

Whether supermarket or discounter, a top priority for packaging is quick and easy handling. Efficient forms of shelf-ready packaging (SRP) are in demand as secondary packaging.
