STI Group wins iF DESIGN AWARD
Lauterbach, 2016_02_26 – Every year, design concepts from all over the world compete for the iF DESIGN AWARD. In 2016, over five thousand entries from 53 countries vied with each other for the design industry’s most prestigious award. One contender was a packaging solution developed by STI Group.
A 58-member panel of experts spent three days evaluating the functionality and aesthetics of all entries – which ranged from cars and household appliances to packaging. Environmental impact and economic viability were also important factors. The Multifill shipping box developed by STI Group successfully met the stringent criteria for this award and now bears the renowned iF seal of quality.
Multifill: Flexible shipping box for online retail
Books, cosmetics, household goods... one standard size of Multifill shipping box, made from corrugated board, can be used to ship differently sized and shaped products. The insert is the key to flexibility; it can be attached to the box sides at different heights to suit the product size.
Protection is priority
There are two types of inserts. Perforated corrugate inserts are best suited for holding rugged products in place, while fragile or irregular-shaped products are better served by a corrugate insert combined with the tear-resistant stretch film developed by Sealed Air. Both versions offer stability and secure shipping.
Simple volume reduction
Thanks to its intelligent design, the size of the box itself can also be adjusted to an appropriate size for return shipment. Simply cut open the sides and turn them out.
STI Group: pioneering spirit
The iF DESIGN AWARD was presented to STI Group at the BMW-Welt in Munich on 26th February. STI Group Marketing Director Claudia Rivinius is rightly proud of the creative team for winning top honours with Multifill. ’There’s a burgeoning market for online retail. Even two years ago, over 4 billion parcels a year were being shipped in Europe and this number is still growing. Product returns are not uncommon with online shopping so, to keep costs and transport volumes down, we set out to proactively develop a range of intelligent e-commerce packaging solutions that meet the needs of online shoppers. To win the iF DESIGN AWARD with Multifill recognises not only our design expertise but also our pioneering spirit and commitment to developing the packaging of the future. This award is a real boost for 2016, and it’s only the beginning.’
The Multifill Box will be on exhibit at the iF design exhibition in Hamburg's HafenCity from 16th June to 18th September.
