POPAI Awards: Silver for France
A premium POS installation used for the launch of L'OR aluminium capsules for Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) not only caught the eye of French shoppers and retailers, it also impressed the jury of this year's POPAI Paris Awards. The instore solution won the silver award in the 'Performance Carton' category.
To launch the aluminium capsule format successfully in the French market, the oversized capsule was designed to arouse the curiosity of shoppers from a distance, and encourage them to trial the product. Developed by STI Group with authentic detailing to make it truly eye-catching, it also scores highly for its use of ecological materials and ease of set-up in store.
Practical handling
Despite appearing to be aluminium, this coffee capsule is in fact made entirely of corrugated cardboard. This avoids the use of vacuum-formed plastic, helping to protect the environment while delivering savings on logistics, timing and cost. Although large, the decoration folds down to a compact size that fits easily in a car boot, yet can be set up in a few simple steps thanks to a built-in elastic band.
Authentic disruption
Alternating gloss and matt lacquer creates an embossed 3D effect over the black and gold offset print. The result is a capsule that exudes the same sense of luxury as the product, helping to encourag premium siting in store.
International appeal
Receiving a POPAI nomination in France is indicative of STI Group’s international expertise, demonstrating yet again its skill in blending the international brand needs and local retailer needs into exciting yet efficient POS solutions.
