9 Mile Vodka is one of the fastest growing vodka brands on the German market. Its 3-litre magnum has LED lighting in the base, which can illuminate the bottle with either a steady glow or a flashing light. This special bottle comes with 4 highball glasses and a pump for serving the vodka; our challenge was to create an innovative, premium looking gift pack that would reach new target groups and extend market share.

Attractive packaging for a heavy, complex and fragile gift

Our packaging design succeeds in carrying the unusual magnum of vodka, distinctive glasses and pump – together weighing a whopping 9 kilos – in an appealing, safe and sustainable way. The rock-like surface of the brand’s iconic bottle is reflected in the packaging, which brings together graphics, offset printing and premium finishing to complement the structural design. To ensure the bottle and matching cut glasses are highly visible, we needed to integrate a huge window – but without sacrificing stability. The result brilliantly showcases its contents yet also can be shipped safely and is easy for shoppers to carry home. Sustainability is a given, so the pack was created for maximum recyclability and resource efficiency and no plastics were used – it is made entirely from corrugated cardboard. The structural design cleverly utilises the cut-out window material by folding it inwards, helping to protect the products by holding them securely and reinforcing the pack’s stability, which also minimises waste. EE flute is super strong yet offers a smooth surface that is optimal for printing clean, eye-catching graphics.
