InContrast gains 4 more POPAI Award nominations

2019-05-13 –

The 2019 POPAI UK & Ireland Awards has seen InContrast receive a further four nominations, bringing the company’s total to 56 POPAI Awards.

This year saw POPAI introduce strict word limits for each award entry while maintaining its focus on shopper engagement and experience, retail suitability and performance against commercial objectives.

‘We’re delighted to have had our POS solutions recognised in a broad spread of categories again this year,’ says Mike Brown, MD of InContrast. ‘We have winners in Confectionery, Health & Beauty and Home & Garden as well as in a new category, Window Displays. This further demonstrates our versatility and the continued impact of our shopper- and brand-oriented design and execution.’

2019 nominees include a striking window display for the Vita Coco coconut water launch, so well received that the retailer asked to retain it for double the agreed length of time. Using hidden fans to create motion in hanging elements cleverly reinforced the core message and delivered a traffic-stopping display.

In unmistakeable yellow, InContrast’s detergent unit for Kärcher was another nomination announced at RetailEXPO in London on 1st May.  Its clever rounded design brought interest and a welcome splash of colour to Halfords stores, engaging shoppers so well that it has been ordered again for the coming season.

The Kinder Halloween Monster dumpbin was nominated for its performance in grocery and convenience stores. The design took a simple on-pack monster character and brought it to life in full 3D, daring children and adults to reach inside its gaping mouth and grab their Halloween treats.

Always a hotly contested category, the Health & Beauty nomination for Unilever Tresemme was much deserved for its ingenuity. Shaping printed cladding around a plain chassis to create a giant 3D version of the distinctive new Tresemme bottle helped make this launch unmissable for Superdrug shoppers.

All entries, including those nominated for an award, can now be viewed in their respective categories on the POPAI UK & Ireland website.

‘We are delighted that our close collaborations with brands and our clients’ faith in us has been rewarded with another clutch of nominations, ’ says James Boydell, sales manager at InContrast. ‘Our team relishes every challenge to deliver confident, creative solutions that keep our clients winning instore. We look forward to hearing the final outcomes and judges’ comments in October.’

Nominees will have to wait to find out whether they have won gold, silver or bronze at the POPAI Awards Gala Dinner, which will be held at the Lancaster London Hotel on 8th October 2019.
