Award-winning Packaging Solutions: STI Group wins four WorldStar Awards

Lauterbach, 2015-05-27 –The WorldStar Awards competition is the equivalent of the World Championship for the packaging industry. The award is the highest distinction awarded annually by the world packaging organisation for trend-setting packaging concepts. At this year’s awards presentation ceremony in Budapest, attended by the 'Who’s Who' of the international packaging industry, the STI Group racked up four wins in all.

A folding box with a special finish for FING’RS, an anti-counterfeit pharmaceutical packaging, and the packaging line for Terra Naturi natural cosmetics were recognised among the most successful packaging solutions of 2015. The temperature-resistant cardboard sleeve developed for Terra Pannonia meat products also impressed the jury and received the globally coveted trophy.

Competing against the Best of the Best

Only those packaging solutions that have won an award in a national packaging contest are eligible for entry in the WorldStar competition. The packaging solutions were evaluated over three days by a panel of experts based on the following criteria: innovation in structural design, graphic design and the quality of the packaging. Cost savings, sustainability and ease of handling were some of the other factors considered in the evaluation. This year, 293 entries from 35 countries competed for the award, making the WorldStar one of the toughest competitions of the packaging industry.

27 WorldStar Awards and counting

Aleksandar Stojanovic, Managing Director of the STI Group, is delighted with the four awards, which were presented to the Hungarian team of the STI Group in Budapest. "The WorldStar Award underscores our creativity and international know-how. What we are really happy about is that the award-winning products were designed for different industries and markets and we have already bagged 27 awards at the international level so far."
