WorldStar of Packaging Award: STI Group scores double win with beverage packaging solutions
Every year, the distinguished World Packaging Organisation jury recognises groundbreaking packaging solutions from across the world with the WorldStar of Packaging Awards. This year STI Group impressed judges with two of its packaging concepts and was presented with two coveted trophies in early May. The awards ceremony, at Interpack in Düsseldorf, was attended by leading packaging industry figures.
STI Group’s Bag in Box packaging for Törley wine was one of the winning solutions. “Not only is it sustainable, it’s extremely communicative as well,” commented one judge. The 3-litre packaging offers a considerably bigger branding space than traditional bottle labels, generating instant attention in the wine section. Corrugated board not only promotes easy transport and storage, it also reduces the CO2 footprint.
Absolut Vodka promotional packaging, created specifically for the Romanian Untold Festival, also bagged an award. Its hexagonal shape and eye-catching design brought a festival ambience to stores, winning the hearts of fans and collectors as well as juries.
Competing against the Best of the Best
The WorldStar of Packaging is one of the toughest packaging competitions. Only solutions that have already won a national packaging award are eligible to enter Worldstar. STI Group’s winners competed against 291 entries from 35 countries and rank among the most successful packaging solutions of 2016, worldwide. The latest wins take STI Group’s total tally of WorldStar trophies to 29.
