Digital Signage refers to the use of digital media content for advertising and information systems like electronic posters, electronic traffic signs or electronic in-store advertising. It is considered to be one of the central in-store media of the future.
Digital signage systems are becoming an increasingly common sight in shopping centres. Its applications range from customer navigation ("Where can I find what?") to presenting new products. Time spent on escalators, lifts or on the way to a given department can be made shorter with videos – interspersed with effective adverts. Digital signage can be used in the centre area for example as digital displays with notifications, adverts for retailers and their suppliers, announcements of upcoming events or advertisements for the shopping centre itself.
