In Hungary „Erős Pista” is the second most popular paprika product behind „Piros Arany”. Its taste is connected to such traditional Hungarian dishes like stuffed cabbage, goulash soup or „paprikás krumpli”, which is a type of potato stew with sausages and red pepper. The product’s speciality is that it contains kibbled paprika, so beside the taste, the esthetical value also contributes to its evaluation. The esthetical value of a product has to be reflected in its packaging. Hungarian traditions are expressed in the graphics of Erős Pista’s label, which was made thanks to the successful cooperation of two Kecskemét located companies: the Univer Product Zrt. and the STI Petőfi Nyomda Kft.

That is why the Hungarian national colours were used as primary colours in the graphics of these offset printed self-adhesive labels. In the centre of the label Erős Pista, a lad from the Great Plain of Hungary twirling his moustache, can be seen, who copes with both the difficulties of peasant life and the spicy dishes. The jury of Pro Typographia competition also liked the label as it has won „Excellent Label” qualification this year.
