The Kecskemét printing house, producing printed and folded cardboard and corrugated cardboard boxes, self-adhesive stickers in rolls, displays and POS-products has improved a lot since its foundation in 1841to become the leader of packaging material production in its region. It produces nearly 1,5 billion cardboard boxes and 5 million square meters of self-adhesive stickers a year by applying high technology on a large scale.
In January, 2012 the production of displays and POS means moved to Kecskemét from the earlier site in Budapest. On this occasion, the senior management of STI Petőfi Printing House decided to invite theirs customers and press partners to the old-new venue, which was presented to the visitors within the frames of a professional program on 11th May.
At ten in the morning Endre Fábián, Managing Director of STI Petőfi Nyomda Kft. greeted the forty visitors, and Gabriella Mile, representative of the market research company, ACNielsen Piackutató Kft. introduced the latest FMCG market trends and pointed out why it is important for a brand manufacturer to implement sales impulsive means at the point of sale.
Then Gergely Bognár, sales team leader of display line at STI Petőfi Nyomda Kft. held a joint presentation with Andrea Mészáros, expert of Heineken Magyarország Sörgyárak Zrt. The menas aligned in the presentation were demonstrated in practice as well, placing high emphasis on the introduction of unique in Hungary technology El Sign, (the El Sign, that is printed e-paper is a patented technology distributed in Europe exclusively by STI Group). The presentation also aimed at performing the brand manufacturer's expectations, the challenges encountered toward the device manufacturer, the compatibility of the two sides, and the success of joint working, within the frames of a specific project.
Expert and globetrotter, Ildikó Kátai Havasi, the Secretary General of the Hungarian POPAI Association, closed the company’s open day with her presentation on the latest POP-sales motivating devices. She provided her audience with information on the different turns of the POPAI Awards and introduced the winners of the Global Awards. She also talked about the latest POP trends she experienced by attending the Global Shop Show in the United States and the MPV Show in Paris.
After the theoretical part of the open day, the emphasis was placed on practicality. The guests visited different stations of cardboard box and display production in two groups. STI Petőfi Nyomda’s experienced plant managers introduced the manufacturing processes of the production, including digital printing preparations, tool making, printing, cutting and gluing.
At the end of the professional programme the hungry guests were invited for a meal at the Kecskemét Pool and Waterpark where they could meet a famous Hungarian swimmer, Károly Güttler. After the merry and family-like lunch our guests could have a drink at the Caribbean Cocktail Terrace of the Waterpark or enjoy the lovely weather in one of the pools.
