Glue
- Beyond paint and coatings, glue represents another key consumable during packaging and display production.
- For lamination, we use a starch adhesive (95% grain starch / regenerative material) and dispersion adhesive; we use a hot melt solution for gluing.
- The adhesives used by STI Group are DIBP-free (Diisobutyl phthalate).
- In the last three years, these steps have led to a 15% reduction in the amount of adhesive used during lamination. This conserves not only the environment, but also provides improved flatness with shorter drying times for corrugated board.
- Unused adhesive residue from the production process is recycled by our adhesives suppliers.
