Social engagement and extending a helping hand have a long tradition at the STI Group.

Back in 1983 when Wilhelm Stabnack (Dipl.-Kfm.) and his wife Ingrid established a foundation on the occasion of his 60th birthday, the move was still considered a somewhat eccentric idea for an entrepreneur and private citizen – one that over time showed his vision and true dedication to social engagement.

In the 25 since its founding, the Wilhelm Stabernack Foundation has distributed more than €280,000 in support of the neediest social cases and recognised charitable organisations – money that has made a sustained difference in the region. In 2008 alone, in celebration of the foundation's 25-year anniversary, a sum of €25,000 was distributed to various projects and individuals in the Vogelsberg district.

Since 2004, "HOME for kids", a charitable society founded by Dr. Kristina Stabernack, has supported physiotherapeutic counselling for traumatised children. Children are our future – and the foundation's resources are intended to help them make a step back toward a "normal" life. The majority of the donations are distributed locally in Hamburg in cooperation with the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf. We also provide financial support to international aid groups working in crisis zones in Southeast Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Here too employees from the STI corporate group are engaged in a variety of different ways.
